For me its true that the smallest things make me smile bigger and more often.  I decided my nightstand needed some "prettying up."  Living well is the best revenge!

Speaking of small things that make me smile........

First Day Gown Delivered to the Woman's Exchange

I delivered my first day gown to the Memphis Woman's Exchange last week.  It really was fun to make and looking forward to making many different designs and some with matching bonnets.  Actually, I'm looking forward to making boy versions.  Everyone who knows me knows I love to sew for boy babies.  You have to be creative with little boy clothing.  This first one though was pink!

Learning From Jeannie Baumeister

A week ago I was fortunate to attend a class by Old Fashion Baby creator, Jeannie Baumeister, in Memphis.  I had a wonderful time but it went by so quickly!  Jeannie taught her new pattern, Baby's First Daygowns.

Jeannie included a photo of my friend, Shirley, and myself on her April 4th blog post, http://oldfashionedbaby.blogspot.com, and generously added a link to my blog.   Thank you, Jeannie.  I'm enjoying the sewing "toys" I bought from you!

I'm back home now and doing my sewing homework.  Practice, practice, practice.

Thanks to all of you who have contacted me from Jeannie's link.

C's Birthday

Caroline's birthday is coming next month and I've made her the cutest dress.  I can't wait to post it and add it to the jMillee catalog but of course I can't ruin the surprise.  I've got to wait until her birthday so stay tuned!

New Look, New Name!

Much has happened to j.Millee Heirloom since my last post in September.  I took a full time day job which of course had a significant impact on my sewing time.  Its good to be back in the labor force full time but I miss the gratification and personal fulfillment I receive from sewing.

I now have a pdf catalog which was a big step and fun to work on.  The blog will now focus totally on sewing and will feature my latest work.  I hope you like the change and visit often.

This is the Lace Bonnet made with white all cotton batiste with tucks and ecru lace and entredeux.  The bonnet adjusts size by the gather in back and fits up to 18 months.

My customer who ordered this bonnet wrote to say "This is even more beautiful than I remembered, thank you so much, I can't wait to give it .....”

This boy's bonnet features handmade blue scallop trim and "shark's teeth" tucks.
This basic yoke dress was made in pink, blue, and green for Christmas with the white pinafore bibs with Christmas tree embroidery, white eyelet flutter sleeves
and white eyelet beading for ribbon side ties.  Below  you will see the optional bib styles for year round wear.
